  • In reply to Christine Schnitzer:

    1. I used to attend the symposium to work do ASNT Committees work but my employer hasn't been supporting my travel expenses over the last few years. 2. I haven't been a presenter recently. 2a. My work and conference schedules usually don't lend themselves to developing and delivering a presentation. 3. I feel that the topics that are presented at the Symposium are current and cutting-edge technologies. It appears that attendance has been good in the recent past, although I do not know how it's been the last few years.
  • 1. Why do you attend the Research Symposium I attend the ASNT Spring Research symposiums for these reasons: • Disseminate my research finding to ASNT researchers, engineers, and professionals • Attend committee and council meetings • Make professional connections with ASNT professionals, vendors, and students • Participate in ASNT mentoring program activities with students • Explore and discuss on novel NDE technologies for potential application into my research 2. Do you make a presentation at the Symposium? If so, why; if not, why not? Yes, I always do try to make presentation at the symposium. The reason for this is: • This will allow me to share and discuss my findings with ASNT researchers, engineers, and professionals and get positive feedbacks. 3. In 2-3 sentences, what is your vision for the Symposium? To serve as a common ground for identifying emerging and advanced NDE research and development, providing a professional forum for communication, making important connections, and promoting NDE technology transfer among researchers, engineers, inspectors and equipment manufacturers.
