Regional Planning Meeting & Board Training - Houston, TX 14-15 August 2015

The Greater Houston Section is hosting a Regional Planning Meeting and Board Training that will led by Jerry Fulin and myself. The date for this meeting will be August 14-15, 2015. The meeting will be hosted at the South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center located at 2500 South Shore Blvd. League City, TX 77573.

Purpose: To prepare each section for the upcoming year by promoting early long range planning and serve as a means to assist section officers who have not had an opportunity to participate in Section Leadership Training before. Additionally, we’ll be conducting an abbreviated “board training” session where leaders will get valuable knowledge on how to better organize and enhance their board meetings.

This invitation has been extended to all section leaders in both Regions 8 & 10. Each section is encouraged to send at least 2 representatives and preferably their Chair, Vice Chair,
Secretary or Treasurer. However, any section leader interested and available to join us is welcome! 

For those who will be traveling from outside of Houston the South Shore Harbour Resort has reserved a block of rooms for our group. The discounted overnight room rate of $110 will be available to those who make their reservations by Friday, July 24th. Call their reservations line (281) 334-1000 and mention ASNT to book.

Transportation from the airport:

If you are flying, Hobby Airport is the closest airport to the South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center. 

  • Taxis are available at Curb Zone 3 outside of the baggage claim area in the lower level. Approximate fares from HOU Airport to the South Shore Resort & Conference Center is $30.00
  • Reserving a ride on the SuperShuttle is also an option. This shared-ride service transports travelers to and from their private address, office or hotel. It takes longer than a taxi due to more frequent stops but may be more affordable, especially if travelling alone. For fare quotes and reservations go to www.supershuttle.com

All group meals and meeting space is being funded by ASNT. It has been tradition that sections help fund the travel and lodging expenses of their participating leadership. If you have any dietary restrictions or special needs, please also indicate that when you RSVP.
